About the Event:

Join us Monday, November 14 at Noon when we hear from Thomas Brackeen, Jr., the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Lead for the Nature Conservancy’s Worldwide Office of Development.

He is the first to hold this newly created role and he will discuss the work that he is directing to tackle issues of diversity, equity and inclusion that includes efforts to diversify its donor base and staff.

About the Speaker:

WO Development

Thomas currently works in the role of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Lead for WO Development. His roles and responsibilities include Project Managing WO Dev’s DEI Action plan other HR Related functions for the WO Dev Operations team. Thomas began his career at TNC in the mailroom at the World Office back in 2012 and then transitioned into WO Development in 2014. Thomas is very passionate about his professional development as he has done various Coda Fellowships to expand his experience on meetings management, faith-based conservation, and DEI. Additionally, he manages the partnership that TNC has with a Faith Based Conservation organization called Green the Church who educates primarily African American Church congregations and underserved communities about Environmental Justice, Climate Change, and Sustainable Conversation practices.

Thomas now serves as a Co-Lead for the DEI Practitioners Network. He looks forward to being able to help connect persons across TNC globally to help build capacity and highlight the great DEIJ work going on within our organization especially as it pertains to philanthropy and development.
