In this presentation, we will cover how incorporating values around sustainability can coincide with a successful investment philosophy. We will highlight the sustainable investing landscape, recent developments, and how Dimensional approaches sustainable investing.

Speaker Bio:

Will Collins-Dean is a Senior Portfolio Manager and Vice President at Dimensional and is Chairman of the firm’s Investment Stewardship Committee. He leads a team of investment professionals who manage global equity and REIT portfolios, and he also represents Dimensional in meetings with current and prospective clients. Prior to joining Dimensional, Will was a portfolio manager at Regions Bank in Birmingham, Alabama. In this role, he managed portfolios for institutions and high-net-worth individuals. Will earned an MBA with concentrations in analytic finance, economics, and econometrics and statistics from the University of Chicago, where he graduated with honors. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business from Wake Forest University and has been a CFA® charterholder since 2011. Will is Series 7 licensed.

Overview:

As risks from climate change become more tangible, a fire has been lit spurring governments and companies into action. The transition to a low carbon economy will disrupt numerous industries. This discussion will explore the myriad opportunities resulting from the push to decarbonize the global economy.

  1. Recognize current and historic trends leading to the need to decarbonize the economy.

  2. Understand efforts underway and expected to bring industry in line with the goal to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

Levi Stewart Zurbrugg, CPA Senior Investment Analyst and Portfolio Manager, joined Saturna in June 2019. At Saturna, he is responsible for leading coverage of the Consumer Staples, Renewable Energy, and Metals sectors. Prior to Saturna, Levi worked at the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board as a Sector Analyst for the Consumer Staples sector. Levi graduated from Western Washington University with a BA in Business Administration and has an MBA from the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business.
